Before we move forwards it is always a good idea to have a few lessons learned, this season will be a time for you to shine with your newfound style!
Your mission should be how to evolve your wardrobe through the wintery months. Keeping warm and on trend at the same time is possible.
But first a little recap. If you followed the advice well, you had a great Christmas in your LBD- (Little Black Dress), turning heads and raising the bar- just wait until next year, your peers will have been working on their little black dress, trust me!! Now you have set the standard the only way is up. Keep it sharp, keep it with a little creativity, and keep it fresh.
Each New Year brings many hopes and aspirations, some resolutions and some reservations. But remember that as you shake off the winter layers, and search furiously into the wardrobe for the New Year identity, take a step back, it will be all right!
Keep it safe to start with, tonal. Black with black, grey with grey, then twist in some spring refreshment!
Don’t despair as here we explore into the new seasonal statements and work on how to create…………………..The Spring Identity cure.
2011 is here and the sales are almost over, some good points to note are to only buy sale items that will be able to give you a spring lift. Do check out the sale rail, but also take a stroll into the new collection, here you can compare the difference in the new ideas, and see if the sale stock can combine with these new looks. (Also check in case you have something similar at home already! The message is in the combinations!)
Hot off the London Press, Uniqlo has the hottest range of coloured cashmere sweaters, on sale! 15.00 GBP (pounds) fresh colours, and winter recession = spring Bargains!!
Go, Go, Go! if you are quick you pick out some cool v neck pullovers which can combine with this seasons ‘Preppy Challenge look’.
The preppy challenge keeps a pretty foundation that is still fresh and not too classique, go for me’s style brogue shoes or high quality court heels. Height adds power and this will maintain a quality edge, and avoid the weekend, I’m not sure what to wear look. The message is in the details.
Pullovers are a key statement –buy them a size bigger and push up the sleeves to give you a bit of the ‘boyfriend’ look, add some fitted ankle chinos. A pure cotton shirt and some vintage Linda Farrow glasses will make a convincing Hollywood twist!
Every Preppy foundation is built on the ever green items.
And the trench coat is a constant must have investment.
Back in the eighties it was cool to save for a Burberry Mac, and now in 2011, the statement is here again.
Evolve the look, bring out some old favourites and use the new statements to make fresh combinations.
Key items, fluid tops, faded jeans, short boots and trench coat.
Add a trench coat and some faded jeans and the preppy look starts to move into the “Faded Lumiere” trend. More in the next style tip.
Thanks for the hint, I was looking for something like that for months 🙂
