Good bye Honduras!

Today is my last day in Honduras (29.11.2010) and I have packed my bags already. I have read through some information about the Andean Collection again and am about to write some e-mails before I get ready to go for a meal with Sandra and some friends in the evening.

Of course I am very sad to leave Sandra behind, but I also find myself being very nostalgic about my life in Honduras. I have made some really good friends and I will not deny that my life style here has been extremely relaxed. Sandra and I have also tried to enjoy the last few weeks here as much as possible, and as I have mentioned in other blogs we went rafting, scuba diving, horseback riding etc.

My good-bye party started with a day spent at the beach with friends and a little party in the evening. This is a picture of us walking to our hang out for the day. In the picture you can see some friends and Sandra (and our dog Clifford) walking along the beach and a creek (river) flowing into the sea. On the right hand side you can also see some people from the village washing their clothes in the creek, as well as kids playing in the water. The place we went to is called Sambo Creek, which is a Garifuna village. Later on in the day we had some typical Garifuna sea food.

The second picture was taken when we had some fresh coconut juice at a beach side bar called Paradise Found.

One of the things I will miss most about life here is the heat. It is so nice and warm here, I have hardly been cold and moving to Ecuador means moving to a colder climate, still not as cold as Europe, but colder than the Caribbean Tropics for sure. Another thing I really love about Honduras is the diversity you see in people’s faces. There are a lot of Indian traces, African and European, even some Asian at times. What I will miss most is Sandra por supuesto!

As I was looking through the Andean Collection website I found this video, which I hadn’t watched before. If you want to know more about where I will work you should check it out, the camera man did a really good job

As always I hope you are all well.

Besitos
